Ted Kennedy Jokes That Patrick is a "Wimp" (posted October 31, 2001)
Senator Ted Kennedy has joked that his son, Congressman Patrick Kennedy, is "a wimp". Interviewed about John McCain's barbs about House members displaying "real profiles in courage" for running to the hills as soon as the anthrax problem hit Capitol Hill, Senator Kennedy used humor to comment on House members following McCain's pointed comments made during an appearance on the David Letterman television program. "Well, Patrick's a wimp, OK?", the Senator said.
Asked about his response to his father's comment about him, Patrick Kennedy told The Hill newspaper that "I don't think I'm much in a position to be full of pride, because right now I need him more than he needs me".
