Bill Requiring Employers to Make Employee Available for Court Summons on Child or Spousal Support (April 12, 2000) -- Vote on H7913 would require any employer in this state is allow service of family court process relating to child or spousal support upon an employee at the place of employment. The service shall not be grounds for dismissal of the employee. The employer may designate an area where the service may be effected. If the employer does not have an area designated for service, the employer shall make the individual available for service. Amendment to State Budget Bill on Suburban School Aid (June 23, 2000) -- Vote on John Savage amendment to H7862 would specify that should a state budget surplus exist as of February 1, 2001, the school districts of Barrington, Charlestown, East Greenwich, Jamestown, Little Compton, Narragansett, New Shoreham, Scituate and Chariho shall receive additional amounts of school aid sufficient to bring total school aid for fiscal year 2001 to the amount each town received for fiscal year 1992. Should said budget surplus be insufficient, then each of the above-referenced school districts shall receive a pro-rate share of said budget surplus based upon the school aid each district received in fiscal year 1992."
