Cianci Deferred
Providence Mayor Buddy Cianci's feature story on the CBS show "60 Minutes II" has been deferred by a month. Originally scheduled to air in April, Cianci's segment has been pushed into May. Perhaps that exclusive "60 Minutes II" interview with President Bill Clinton had something to do with it. Or maybe the network just wanted to air Buddy during its crucial viewer "sweeps" month as a ratings boost.
The feature is scheduled to focus on the famed Providence Renaissance. It is rumored to be generally positive, but to have an intriguing personal subplot centering on Cianci's turnabout, in the eyes of CBS, from sinner to saint.
